My name is LaRon Washington, but everyone knows me as Goldie. Born and raised in Maysville, Kentucky, fishing has been a part of my life since I was 8 years old. I grew up along the banks of the Ohio River, casting lines and building a deep passion that has only grown stronger over the years.

With over 30 years of fishing experience, and the last 10 years dedicated exclusively to boat fishing, I've spent decades learning the river’s secrets — how it flows, where the monsters hide, and how to land them. I've taken fishing seriously enough to compete in some of the biggest tournaments, and I’m proud to be sponsored by some of the industry's top leaders, including my mentor and friend, Steve Douglas, owner and inventor of the nationally known Monster Rod Holders.

The Ohio River holds a lifetime of memories for me — and now, I want to help you create some of your own. Whether it's your first time fishing or you're chasing a new personal best, allow me to take you, your friends, and your family on a guided trip through these legendary waters, in search of giant catfish and lasting memories.

At Goldfish Charters, we pride ourselves on being a family-oriented business focused on fun, safety, and comfort, no matter the weather. We specialize in catching blue catfish, channel catfish, and flathead catfish, using a variety of techniques like dragging, drifting, and anchoring. Our main areas are Maysville, Ripley, and Manchester, but we’re happy to explore spots like Meldahl Dam too — wherever the fish are biting!

We always use fresh, personally caught bait, often starting the day by catching it together to ensure the best action. Plus, we proudly follow CPR – Catch, Picture, and Release – for all fish over 15 pounds. If you’d like to keep a few smaller catches, you’re welcome to keep anything under 15 pounds.
